Gemma’s Relief Project
Phoenix, az
Gemma’s Relief Project was created in honor of our daughter, Gemma Rose, and the legacy of love she continues to inspire. Born from profound loss and deep compassion, this nonprofit project exists to bring light into some of the darkest and most uncertain moments families can face.
We come alongside families whose children are placed on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. When life changes in an instant, and parents are suddenly navigating critical care, long hospital stays, and overwhelming uncertainty, our hope is to remind them they are not alone.
What We Do
Upon a child’s arrival and placement on ECMO, families receive a Hope Kit and a Brave Bundle from Gemma’s Relief Project. These kits are thoughtfully assembled to support families and children living in the hospital and are designed to meet immediate needs while offering comfort and hope during an incredibly difficult time.
When a child’s ECMO journey ends in loss, families receive a Compassion Kit. These packages are created to gently support grieving parents as they begin life without their child, offering care, remembrance, local grief resources, and a tangible expression of love during a time of deep sorrow.
Our Heart
We recognize that not every family has the strong support we have received during our own medical crisis and grief. Gemma’s Relief Project exists to meet families where they are with kindness, presence, and compassion.
While our project is rooted in and shaped by our Christian faith, our care is extended freely and respectfully to every family, regardless of belief or background. We believe comfort is meant to be shared, and hope can exist even in the most fragile moments.
Join Us
We would be grateful to have you join us in honoring Gemma Rose’s life by supporting families as they walk through their child’s fight for life. Together, we can continue to meet families with hope, bravery, and compassion—one care kit, one family, and one moment at a time.”
